Membership Floor Fees

Classes + Open Fencing: $100/month

Entitles you to unlimited classes and open fencing. Sportmember link to join this team.

Open Fencing only: $60/month

Entitles you to unlimited open fencing only. No classes. Students need to be experienced fencers and to be approved by coaching staff for the open fencing only membership. Sportmember link to join this team.

There is a 10% discount for each additional family member on the above monthly memberships. The discount is auto calculated in your monthly invoice in our membership app SportMember if family accounts are linked.

Newcomer Class Trial Pack - $180

12 session introductory deal on classes for beginners/newcomers. Pick your classes for your schedule. Intermediate and advanced classes need prior coach approval. One time use only. Ages 8+ or with prior approval from coaching staff. 12 sessions expire after 12 months if not used. Sportmember link to join this team. 

(Please note: For the trial pack only it will take 12-48 hours to obtain approval through SportMember to join classes on the calendar. Once the approval process is complete you will receive an email. Please watch your spam filters for this email and further instructions.)

Visitor + Drop in Fees

$35 for visitors attending class & open fencing. Sportmember link to be billed.
$25 for visitors attending open fencing only. Sportmember link to be billed.

Visitor fees can be paid in SportMember OR they can be paid upon arrival at the club using the Venmo or PayPal QR codes that are on display. Visitors are defined as attending less than twice a month or only in town for a short period of time.

Class times and dates are subject to change. You can stay up to date with our class schedules and events in SportMember.

Private Lessons

Private lessons will not be faciliated for beginners in the 12 class beginner program. You must be a full member in good standing to receive private lessons at the Club. The following coaches currently offer private lessons:

** Coach Charles:   Provides private foil and epee lessons. Contact him directly at 239-989-8663 to coordinate.

** Coach Eli:   Provides private foil and epee lessons. Please discuss scheduling with him in person before or after his Monday class. 

**  Coach Michael: Provides private epee lessons. Contact him directly at 352-213-8668 to coordinate.

​​​​Private lessons are always by appointment only, not for drop in, and are NOT facililated by the Southwest Florida Fencing Academy. It is a privilege of membership to use the club for private lessons. All payment arrangements and costs are made directly with the coach providing the lessons. Payment in full is due prior to receiving a private lesson and are not able to be invoiced or paid through the Club or SportMember.

 

MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATION POLICY

The Southwest Florida Fencing Academy does not require contracts and does not issue refunds.  SportMember is used to manage our calendar, communications and payments. By using SportMember you are agreeing to SportMember’s payment processing procedures. Invoices are sent out through SportMember fourteen (14) days before a new month starts and accounts will be promptly charged for these invoices. Auto-payment is an option for your convenience to prevent late payments and to prevent a lapse in your fencing club membership. Monthly members may cancel their membership by properly submitting a cancellation request at least thirty (30) days prior to their next auto payment date. There are two options to cancel membership:

(1) Cancellations can be made in writing via email: (engarde@swfloridafencing.academy),

(2) Members can manually elect in their SportMember account to leave the club, and if this process is properly completed, the automatic payments will stop. Please note payments will still process for previously issued invoices. 

Otherwise, in accordance with the member’s SportMember account, the Southwest Florida Fencing Academy remains authorized to charge the account provided by the member for automatic payment of their nonrefundable monthly membership dues. 

Prepaid (Annual) memberships (i.e., memberships that are paid in full in advance for a full 12 months) are nonrefundable, but are able to be paused for medical/personal leave by submitting a request in writing via email to: (engarde@swfloridafencing.academy). Prepaid (Annual) Memberships cannot be paused for more than twelve (12) months.

MEMBERSHIP, TOURNAMENT, PROGRAM, AND CAMP REFUND/CREDIT POLICY


Membership Refunds  

Membership refunds are only permitted when there are extenuating circumstances that limited you from notifying the Southwest Florida Fencing Academy of your cancellation. These would need to be accompanied by proper documentation (i.e. doctor’s note).

If you were incorrectly charged due to the Southwest Florida Fencing Academy's failure to cancel or put the membership on hold, a full refund/credit will be given as long as the refund/credit is accompanied by proper documentation (i.e. hold form, cancel form, email, etc). The Southwest Florida Fencing Academy will not refund/credit more than three (3) months of membership at any given time under any circumstances.

Camp and Speciality Program Refunds/Credits and Cancellation Policy

We understand that children like to try new classes and/or activities to find the one that they love.  You can cancel from camp or speciality programs three (3) weeks prior to the start date. You will receive a full refund as an account credit to be used on another program of your choice, or future membership payments, or a refund of payment. Refunds may be made via check or credit to the original payment method based on processing needs of the Southwest Florida Fencing Academy (refunds on camp programs are subject to a $10 service fee).

After the camp program has begun,

For full pay programs: Program refunds/credits for full pay programs are not permitted unless there are extenuating circumstances and are accompanied with proper documentation (i.e. medical). Even then, they will be prorated. Refunds/credits requested after the completion of a program session will not be honored.

If the Southwest Florida Fencing Academy cancels a camp program, whenever possible we will offer members the opportunity to make up that class/program: If a makeup cannot be accommodated, a member may request a credit for that class/program in writing.

All credits will expire after one (1) year from the date issued to a member’s account.

Tournaments Refunds/Credits and Cancellation Policy

Refunds/Credits are only permitted when there are extenuating circumstances that limited you from notifying the Southwest Florida Fencing Academy of your cancellation. These would need to be accompanied by proper documentation (i.e. doctor’s note). Credits will be provided without a processing fee. Refunds on tournaments are subject to a $5 service fee.

If the Southwest Florida Fencing Academy cancels a tournament, we will offer the opportunity to make up the tournament whenever possible. If a makeup cannot be accommodated, a member may request a credit for the tournament in writing.
